From Maria P. in Barcelona, Spain. “I have received with joy and excitement the pretty shawl and prayers, thank you so much! Three months ago, just after my sixth child was born, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The power of prayer from so many people like you holds me and my family. Many thanks from Barcelona from the mother who trusts in God, and thank you for prayers that cross borders and oceans.” June 2014
The Cancer Ministry welcomes people who contact the shrine seeking support for themselves or a loved one. If requested, the prayer recipient’s first name only and a brief history of their condition are posted so that all who enter can keep them in prayer. In addition, note cards are personalized with their name. These cards are placed on a rack so adorers, parishioners, school children, and shrine visitors can pick them up and write the time and date of their prayer as well as notes of encouragement. These cards are mailed to the prayer recipient to bring hope and assurance that they are in our hearts and prayers. If you or a loved one would like to be featured in the shrine for these special prayer petitions, please contact Anthanette Donaldson at 480-844-4478 or email@example.com.
The Perpetual Adoration Ministry is supported by devoted people who have committed themselves to spending time with the Lord each week. There are adorers praying before the Blessed Sacrament 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For more information about this ministry contact, Dick Jacobson at 602-300-8562 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The St. Peregrine Prayer Group gathers at the shrine on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 7- 8:30 p.m. for intercession, scripture meditation and saying the rosary. The relic of St. Peregrine is presented for veneration and the prayer team is available for healing prayer at the end of each meeting. For more information contact Anthanette Donaldson at 480-844-4478 or email@example.com.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry Group meets every Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Prayer shawls are an important part of the St. Peregrine Cancer Shrine. Our volunteers meet weekly to knit, crochet and quilt. Each shawl is blessed and has a St. Peregrine medal sewn in it as a reminder of the prayers coming their way from the volunteers who lovingly spend their time making beauty shawls and praying for people they will never meet. The shawls are touched to the St. Peregrine relic and then mailed to those who request them. For more information, please contact either Charlotte Volkman at 480-924-2155 or firstname.lastname@example.org or Susan Hill at 480-892-3688 or email@example.com.
